Animathon - Your Window To The Animation World
The second edition of Animathon training was successfully conducted at the premises of BlackBox Academy for students of Himalayan College of Engineering. A total of 52 students graduated from this training program.
This two-month course, conducted from 12 May 2019 to 14 July 2019, introduced students to the basics of 2D and 3D character creation and movement, with a focus on developing content for AR lenses on Android and iOS platforms, similar to those used in applications like Snapchat and Facebook.
The program was designed to give students practical exposure to animation and gaming industry skills, helping them understand real-world workflows and guiding those interested in pursuing a career in these fields. Under the supervision of industry specialists, students attended daily 2-hour sessions that included creative art tutorials, augmented reality introductions, and basic programming exercises.
By the end of the course, students had either developed or begun learning foundational skills in industry-standard tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe After Effects, Lens Studio, and Autodesk Maya.
Animathon is designed for everyone—from complete beginners with no prior experience to learners who want to explore and expand their understanding of animation, gaming, and digital creativity.
